The NKSE poultry division specializes in the production of high quality eggs. A state of the art poultry shed was completed in March 2014 with the capacity to house 2,500 egg-laying chickens. The standard mortality rate for one-day-old chicks is 4%. NKSE has maintained a mortality rate below 2% due to its hard working poultry attendants. NKSE provides an uninterrupted supply of quality eggs to the local community. Creating a local supply of eggs in Kuria, rather than importing eggs from Uganda, generates jobs and gives locals access to higher quality eggs. In 2016, NSE is expanding its operations to Kisumu, Kenya.
