Frank Kitonga, President
Prior to Nuru, Frank Kitonga built the BoP Innovation Center in the East African Region within the inclusive business industry. He successfully developed a high value portfolio with projects including NETFUND Award program, 2SCALE (Agribusiness Incubator), GAIN Market Place program, Unilever / DFID TRANSFORM project and the KMAP project with Farm Africa. During his 15 years tenure in the corporate world, Frank has been involved in many projects in the disciplines of supply chain, finance, procurement and information and communications technology. At Nestle, Frank was part of the International Nestle Group Audit team, implemented the SAP & TPM programs in 10 countries in Equatorial Africa and pioneered the Africa Sourcing Project. At Unilever, he implemented the Sankofa project which linked all Sub-Saharan countries into a single ERP system and also transformed the OMO brand from losing to growing market share as management accountant. Frank is passionate about inclusive business. He is based in Kenya from where he works to transform lives through a pragmatic, boots-on-the-ground approach.
Tom Kosgei Kibet, Poultry Manager
Tom has spent much of the last few years researching and working for universities in Kenya. After studying Biology at University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, Tom pursued an MSc. in Biotechnology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. As a graduate student, Tom studied the identification of soil nematodes from the Ngere tea catchment area of Murang’a County in Kenya. Prior to joining Nuru, he worked as a teaching assistant and research student at Jomo Kenyatta University where he was responsible for teaching undergraduates in both the classroom and the laboratory settings.
Bonface Seka Monga’re, Lead Data Clerk
Bonface Seka Monga’re graduated from Kisii University in 2014 with a Diploma in Business Administration. He also holds a certificate in sales and marketing from the same University. He joined Nuru Social Enterprises in 2014 as a data clerk and was recently promoted to the role of Lead Data Clerk. He has two years of experience in data entries and analysis, helping in administrative tasks, market research, and store record keeping and finance assignments. His entrepreneurial, sales and marketing skills come in handy in all areas of work at NKSE.
Abisae Onyango, Operations Manager
Ogolla holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Egerton University in Njoro, Kenya. Prior to joining Nuru in September 2012 he previously worked at TNS Research International as Quality Assurance Assistant. Previous past work has also included implementing the Preventing Orphaning Initiative with the Family AIDS Initiative. He brings to Nuru extensive experience in research and modeling.
Clarence Gibore Mecche, Consumer Products Manager
Meche was born and raised in Nairobi Kenya. He holds a Higher Diploma in Business Administration and holds a Certificate of Professional Accounting Technicians with four years experience in administration and data analysis. He previously has worked with Epic Marine General Assessors where he gained experience in administration procedures, accounting systems, data entry and analysis. He joined Nuru as a Program Clerk. In May 2014 he was promoted to the role of a Data Analyst in Nuru Social Enterprises.
Esther Wambui, Financial Officer
Esther graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Egerton University in 2012. She is also a CPA graduate and conversant with computerized accounting packages. Prior to joining NSE in April 2015, she worked with Dickways Construction Ltd and Track & Trace Ltd as an Accountant and Finance Manager respectively for 4 years. She has a passion for working with the most vulnerable in society and, in 2012; she worked with Belgut Empowerment Women Organization. She is committed to excellence, strongly believe in integrity and works towards enhancing stability and development of an entity with regards to its aims, goals & objectives.
Margaret Mwasame, Procurement Officer
Margaret is a procurement practitioner having started her career development journey in 2012 at Kenya Seed Company and later on at Trans-nzoia County Government. She is a graduate of Maside Muliro University of Science & Technology and a member of the professional body Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM). She describes her carrier as her best friend and is highly motivated by her work. Margaret comes from Western Kenya.
George Kimani, Dairy Herd and Extension Services Manager
George holds a Diploma from Egerton University in Animal Husbandry. He has vast experience in the management of dairy animals and his previous work experience has included a post as Livestock Manager at the Agricultural Development Corporation in Kitale and later as a Dairy Herd Manager at an intensive total zero grazing farm called Amboni Dairy Farm Nyeri as well as Tosha Dairy Farm in Ruiru among others. George has great interest and skill in dairy farming especially breeding of lactating cows as well as nutrition and management.
Kevin Ochieng, Dairy Processing Manager
Kevin obtained his Bachelor of Science in Dairy Technology and Management from Egerton University, Njoro Campus and at the same time completed a certificate course in ISO 22000:2005 for food safety management systems. Kevin previously managed a successful yogurt processing business while at University and following that worked as a Quality Control Officer for Razco Foods Limited where he focused on dairy product production, quality systems and marketing research for new products.
